This week, I started my third week of being a marketing intern for MedPro Disposal. A lot has happened during my first two weeks, but I have learned so much in the short amount of time I have been an intern here.
As the only in-office marketing intern, I have been juggling multiple projects and applying what I have learned in the classroom. Managing the social media, creating content and scheduling posts have been a big part of my duties. I’ve also been trusted to update the website and curate blog content both from myself and the other interns. I’ve also been exposed to so many different software and applications, and I love that even though it may take me a second to get the hang of it, I am challenged to learn. Because of this, I have been able to further develop my skills beyond the classroom.
Being a marketing intern with MedPro Disposal has opened my eyes to the healthcare industry. Prior to my internship, it was an industry I knew very little about, but is one with many different needs. Marketing in the healthcare space is much different than in, say, the technology space. Marketing business to business has also been very different because as consumers we are used to business to consumer marketing.
I have learned a lot about the company and its employees in my short time here as a marketing intern. Everyone has been very nice and invested in my success. They are quick to help me whenever I have questions and provide guidance when necessary. The lively atmosphere pushes everyone to put their best foot forward. However, it is also laid back enough to have genuine conversations and get to know everyone on a personal level.
I have five weeks left, and I am excited that I am able to use my skills and knowledge to help MedPro Disposal achieve its goals.
