From Calhoun all the way down I-75 to Valdosta, MedPro Disposal offers top-tier medical waste disposal coverage to the many great cities of Georgia. Known as the Peach State, Georgia is located in the southeastern corner of the United States. As many are unfamiliar of, Georgia was the last of the Thirteen Colonies, which was confirmed in 1732.

Reaching back into history, Georgia formerly was inhabited by mound building cultures. These cultures reigned over a 5,000-year period, and got their name due to the many mound-shaped constructions they formed for religious practices and ceremonial gatherings. February 12th, of 1733, James Oglethorpe founded the British colony. After being invaded by Spanish settlement, Georgia failed to get back on their feet, and the Trustees turned the colony over to the crown. From there the governor was appointed by the king.

Georgia “hit the jackpot” if you may, in 1829, when gold was discovered in the North Georgia mountains. Early 1861 hit and Georgia had joined the Confederacy, hosting many major battles at Chickamauga, and even big cities like Atlanta.

Georgia’s economy in 2010 had a gross state product of $403 billion. With this type of output, and the many years the state has had the highest credit rating, Georgia would be the 28th largest economy in the world if it were to function on its own. Many Fortune 500 and Fortune 1000 companies have their headquarters in the state, which aid the state’s economic performance. Home Depot, UPS, and Delta Air Lines are some of the many companies that call the peach state home. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is the world’s busiest airport in terms of air traffic as well as passenger traffic. Atlanta International serves as the hub of the United States. Due to the many headquartered facilities in Georgia, more than 112,000 citizens of Georgia have work. The city of Atlanta is popular for real estate, service industries, and communications. On top of the thriving industries, tourism makes up a very large contribution to the economy.

Whether you catch an Atlanta Braves game, or head over to Sanford Stadium to catch the Georgia Bulldogs face the major SEC competitors, Georgia has many professional sport teams. Most importantly, Georgia is home to Augusta National. This tournament is the first of the four majors of the PGA tour. This is one of the most famous golf sites in the world. This course was first opened in 1933, founded by Bobby Jones and Clifford Roberts.

From East Georgia Regional Medical Center to John D. Archbold Memorial Hospital, MedPro Disposal seeks to do its part in keeping Georgia’s healthcare facilities open and running at top potential. Education of the citizens and healthcare professionals in regards to safe-handling their medical waste is our main concern.

Let us use an example to highlight a scenario. Gloves must be put directly in the designated red biohazard container immediately following its use. Near 17 million individuals were infected by improper handling and unsafe disposal. 99,000 of these individuals went on to lose their life. These types of scenarios are preventable in today’s age. With proper education, that 17 million decreases significantly.
